In Hoorn, you won't be walking through a historic city; no, you'll smell and feel the history of the Dutch East India Company (VOC), the Dutch West India Company (WIC), and the whalers. With a bit of luck, fishermen will hang their nets to dry on the bridge, an old ship will be restored in the harbor, and a local man will tell you a wonderful story.
